Summer Intern

Nina Sparling is KCAW’s summer reporting intern. She’s a master’s candidate at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where she’s studying radio and narrative writing.

She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2014. Since then, she has worked a variety of odd jobs – everything from a cheesemonger in Brooklyn to an English teacher in Paris – to support herself while writing.

Nina has covered stories that range from voting rights restoration in Alabama to indoor, vertical farming in New Jersey. This summer, she’s eager to hear from Sitkans about the issues and happenings that matter to them.
