    Creating With the
    Creator Art Taught
    Creating with the Creator assemblage art classes are being held 3-5 p.m. Aug. 24, 31 and Sept.7 at the First Presbyterian Church.
    The free classes, creating with found objects and junk, are open to the public and will be lead by Perry Comas, and Keith and Cyndy Gibson.
    ‘‘Bring your junk – anything unique and cool, like an old watch, baby pictures, hardware – and we’ll use it,’’ organizers said.

    Coho Clan to Meet
    The Coho Clan will meet 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at the main coho Clan House. All clan members are invited.

TAP Class Set
A Training for Alcohol Professions class will be held 9 a.m. Aug. 24 at Westmark Sitka in the banquet room.
The class fulfills the State of Alaska education requirements for servers and sellers of beverage alcohol. Cost is $45 and ID cards required.
Those who have an expired TAM card less than 6 months expired may simply take the test. Cost is $45 and individuals must arrive by 8:30 a.m.

    MEHS Students
    To Give Program
    Two Mt. Edgecumbe students, Reba Dundas and Austin Bacon, spent time hiking and camping in the South Baranof Wilderness area this summer. While there, they explored career options in wilderness management.
    The two students will give a presentation 5 p.m. Aug. 25 at Kettleson Memorial Library.
    The program was jointly sponsored by Sitka Conservation Society and U.S. Forest Service.

    STA Meetings
    Rescheduled
    Due to a scheduling conflict, the Sitka Tribe of Alaska’s Sitka Marine Mammal Commission meeting has been moved to 7 p.m. Aug. 28, and the Cultural, Customary and Traditional Committee is set for noon Aug. 27. Both will be in the Resource Protection Department Office, 429 Katlian Street.
    Contact Resource Protection Director Jeff Feldpausch at 747-7469 with questions. A light lunch will be provided at the Aug. 27 meeting. The public is invited to both.
