    Panel to Meet
    The Sitka Local Foods Network education committee will meet 5:30-7 p.m. tonight at Centennial Hall to discuss future workshops and classes for the upcoming spring and summer.
    The group is seeking to expand its network of local volunteers who can teach formal and informal classes  about growing food.

    Alaskapella
    To Perform
    On Tuesday
    Alaskapella, the official a cappella vocal ensemble of the University of Alaska Southeast, will perform 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheet’ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi.
    Formed in 2011 and run as a student organization, the co-ed group rehearses throughout the year and performs regularly at community and UAS events. The original four-member club has expanded to 21 singers and continues to grow and evolve with additional repertoire and more advanced pieces. Two smaller groups have also formed out of Alaskapella, both of which will be performing in the coming concerts.
    A chat and reception will be held after Tuesday’s performance.
    Alaskapella extended appreciation to the UAS Alumni Association and the UAS Student Government for sponsoring the tour, chat and reception.
    Club adviser Bruce Simonson and 18 singers will be on hand for the concert, including Jacque Boucher, Jackie Scholz, Cassie Stuart, Victoria Jordan, Kristina Paulick, Stephanie Tripp, Darcy DeRego, Patricia Gerdes, Cheyenne Luca, Thomas Eggers, Richard Carter, Veronica Narvaez, Denali Wentz, Caleb Fish, Paul Rostad, Andre Bunton, Richard Ringle and Chris Pierce.
