    Installation
    Women of the Moose will have installation of officers and chairmen for the ensuing year 7 p.m. Wednesday upstairs at the Moose Lodge.
    All members are invited to attend. A potluck of appetizers and desserts will be at the conclusion of the ceremony.

    Strong and Steady
    Times Change
    The Strong and Steady exercise class at the Swan Lake Senior Center meets 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning May 1.
    Sitka’s senior citizens are being invited to participate in the free activity designed to improve strength and balance. For more information call 747-3412.

    Vehicles in Park
    Permits Needed
    Special-use permits are required for any vehicle access to Halibut Point Recreation Area due to increased damage to park terrain.
    Permits may be obtained by calling the Sitka State Parks office at 747-6249, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

    Accessible Tourism
    Training May 9
    Southeast Alaska Independent Living announces a special, one-time training opportunity on ‘‘Accessible Tourism: Customer Service for Visitors with Disabilities’’ 1 p.m. May 9.
    Training is open for business owners, employees, tour operators, agencies, government entities or others involved in the tour and hospitality industry in Sitka.
    Topics cover a wide range of accommodations needed to assist individuals with hearing, visual and mobility impairments. It will include guiding someone with a visual impairment, assisting someone using a wheelchair, tips on how to make a business more accessible, as well as information on local resources.
    Each attendee will receive a certificate of completion, valid for up to two years. Registration requires a $75 deposit, with $25 refunded upon training attendance. In addition, any business or agency can register three people for the price of two. Deadline for registration is 5 p.m. May 2.
    Businesses can also set up a time for personal, customized trainings for employees at their place of work on either May 9, 10 or 11.

    SHS Parents Sought
    Parents of Sitka High School seniors are being called for the final organizational meeting for the graduation party set 7-8 p.m. May 1 in the Keet Gooshi Heen library.

    ANB Meets Tonight
    The meeting at the ANB Hall today at 6:30 p.m. will be for Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp 1. The ANS Grand Camp first vice president will not be attending as originally planned.
    ANB Camp 1 Vice President Bob Sam is scheduled to chair the meeting. A second reading of the proposed by-laws is planned. Those with questions may call Betty Jo at 738-8210.
