LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. The group made the quilts for five local non-profits and one in Anchorage. The remaining quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief which distributes them to places around the world in need, such as Ukraine, as part of Personal Care Kits. Roller Derby
To be on Raven
Raven Radio will be broadcasting the live Roller Derby bout 7:30-9 p.m. Saturday.
Adjustments to the Saturday programming lineup include ‘‘A Prairie Home Companion’’ beginning a half hour earlier, at 5:30 p.m., and The Garden Show taking a week off. Tune in to hear the Sitka Sound Slayers live on Raven Radio this Saturday.
Cancer Support
Group to Meet
Sitka Cancer Support Group will meet 1 p.m. May 18 at the Pioneers Home Manager’s House behind the Mt. Edgecumbe preschool on Seward Street.
Those in cancer treatment and cancer survivors are invited to spend time with others who understand what they are going through. This support group is sponsored by Sitka Cancer Survivors Society.
