Exhibit Saturday

At Seafood Festival

A second viewing of Jana M. Suchy’s vintage black-and-white photo exhibit is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Saturday during the Sitka Seafood Festival for those who missed the opening reception on Wednesday, which was attended by more than 500 people.

Photos of the fishing industry from 30 years ago will be on view. The exhibit of more than 300 photos celebrates Sitka’s fishing heritage circa 1980s and is companion to the new black-and-white photobook “Alaska Fishing Gold Rush of the 1980s” by the former Sitkan. Her photos and copies of her book are for sale.

The exhibit is being presented by Sitka Sound Seafoods and Seafood Producers Cooperative.
