Sitka Gets Two More Positive Virus Tests

By Sentinel Staff

Sitka logged two more positive cases of COVID-19 Monday, both non-resident men who were tested at the airport.

These two positives bring Sitka’s non-resident COVID count to five. Sitka has had 14 cumulative cases. Only three of the virus cases remain active, health authorities say.

Sitka Public Health Nurse Denise Ewing told the Sentinel that one of the positive cases was a man aged between 20 and 29, and the other was a man between 60 and 69 years old.

“Both isolated, contact tracing being done,” Ewing said by text message.

She said that both men are seasonal workers, and were asymptomatic.

Sitka didn’t record any new positive virus tests over the past weekend, Ewing said.
