Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
April 17
An animal problem was reported at 2:13 p.m. on Pherson Street.
A liquor law violation was reported at 5:03 p.m. on the lower Moller field.
A drunkenness case was reported at Totem Square at 7:41 p.m.
Fireworks were reported at 8:42 p.m. on Cascade Street; 9:38 p.m. in the 900 block of HPR; and 10:34 p.m. in the 3300 block of HPR.
Suspicious activity was reported at 10 p.m. near Petro Express.
A noise complaint came in at 11:53 p.m. from the 800 block of Lake Street.
At 11:54 p.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 2600 block of HPR.
April 18
At 9:23 a.m. a traffic complaint came in from Nelson Logging Road.
At 9:30 a.m. criminal mischief was reported at a laundry.
At 11:33 a.m. a civil dispute was reported on Anna Drive.
A traffic accident with damage was reported on Herring Cove Road at 3:15 p.m.
An animal problem was reported at 8:19 p.m. in the 1100 block of HPR.
April 19
Parking problems were reported in the 1600 block of SMC; Hemlock Street; on SiginakaWay; ANB Harbor; and the 3200 block of HPR.
At 5 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at a laundry.
A civil dispute was reported at 10 a.m. on Etolin Street.
A stalking order violation and harassment claims were logged at 11:17 a.m. on Lake Street.
A civil dispute was reported on Etolin Street.
At 11 p.m. a traffic stop was made on Katlian Street.
Sitka Police
Cindy L. Miller, 53, was charged April 14 with driving with a suspended license.
Izaak S. Needham, 50, was charged with a revoked license on April 17.
Dan J. Tackitt, 65, was charged with assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) on April 19.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 7;33 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 10:58 a.m, 1:38 p.m., 2:06 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday; 10:35 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 2:13 p.m., 3:49 p.m., 8:29 p.m. and 8:51 p.m. Saturday; 2:36 a.m., 3:57 p.m. and 7:18 p.m. Sunday.
A fire call came in at 11:50 a.m. Saturday from 404 Lake Street after burnt food had caused alarm but no fire.

Michael Stringer, environmental specialist for Sitka Tribe of Alaska and a founder of the community garden, takes the concept of Earth Week literally. This weekend he hopes others will share his appreciation for “earth” and things growing in it by joining him in preparing the community garden just behind Blatchley Middle School for another growing season.
