Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.

May 8

A special event parade permit was requested at 6:30 a.m.

A traffic accident with damage was reported at 9:10 a.m. on Hollywood Way.

Animal problems on Shelikof
Way, and at HPR and Erler Street were reported.

A family fight was reported at an apartment at 12:04 p.m.

A parking problem was reported at Totem Square at 8:53 p.m.

At 9:49 p.m. fireworks were reported near Sitka High School.

A fire was reported on Kaagwaantaan Street at 9:58 p.m.

Citizen contacts were logged at 10:20 p.m. at the Kimsham ball field and at 11:16 p.m. at 2500 HPR.

May 9

A fire was reported at Crescent Harbor at 4:52 a.m.

At 8:06 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at the Pioneers Home.

At 10:32 a.m. a citizen assist was reported at the shooting range.

A domestic problem was logged at 3:26 p.m. on Edgecumbe Drive.

A traffic accident with damage was reported at 4:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Katlian.

Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of Marine Street at 6:39 p.m.;  and at 11:29 p.m. at the O’Connell Bridge.

Fireworks were reported at 9:27 p.m. on Shotgun Alley; and at 9:55 p.m. at New Archangel and Marine streets.

At 10:51 p.m. citizen contact call was logged at Herring Cove Road.

May 10

At 1:44 a.m. a parking problem was reported at Sitka National Cemetery.

Suspicious activity was reported on Kimsham Street at 1:54 a.m.; at 2 p.m. at totem park; 5:37 p.m. at a lodge; 7:06 p.m. at a SMC store; and 8:37 p.m. at Herring Cove trailhead.

A traffic complaint came in from Lifesaver Drive at 8:13 a.m.

A report of drunkenness came in at 2:22 p.m. from 100 Lincoln Street.

Criminal mischief was reported at a lodge.

At 8:38 p.m. fireworks were reported in the 700 block of Lake Street; and at 10:21 p.m. in the 4000 block of HPR.

 

At 11:30 p.m. a civil dispute was reported on Anna Drive.

 

Sitka Police

Kristian Berg, 30, was cited for littering Friday.

Cheryl Chandler, 49, was charged Saturday with two counts of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.

Michael Busby, 33, was charged Sunday with criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

Rebecca Culbertson, 38, was charged Sunday with violating conditions of release and trespassing in the second degree.

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Friday; two Saturday; and three Sunday.

At 4:56 a.m. Saturday an engine went to Crescent Harbor for an electric problem on a boat; at 9:07 p.m. Saturday to 103 Charlie Joseph Street; and at 9:21 p.m. Saturday to 1421 HPR  on a false alarm.

 

In Court

 

Alex Scott Robinson, 30, on an Oct 5. 22, 2019, charge of burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, was sentenced to 24 months with 18 months suspended, consecutive to two other sentences. He is to be on probation for five years. On a July 25, 2019,  charge of theft in the first degree, a value of $25,000 or over, a class B felony, he was sentenced to 36 months with 24 months suspended, consecutive to two other sentences. He was placed on five years probation. Charges of burglary in the first degree, in a dwelling; and criminal mischief in the fifth degree, damage under $250, were dismissed by the prosecution. On a charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance he was sentenced to 30 days, to be served consecutively to the other sentences. Charges of vehicle theft in the first degree, misconduct involving weapons in the third degree, criminal trespass in the first degree, and theft in the second degree were dismissed without prejudice.
