Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
June 12
Disturbances were reported at 7 a.m. in the 400 block of Lake Street; and at 12:22 p.m. at ANB Harbor.
A traffic complaint was called in at 11 a.m. at 4513 HPR.
An animal problem was reported on Lance Drive at 5:16 p.m.
Disorderly conduct was reported at 11:26 p.m. at Crescent Harbor.
June 13
Suspicious activity was reported at Shoals Point at 10 a.m.; at Starrigavan campground, at 3 p.m.; and the 800 block of Lincoln Street at 6:33 p.m.
Traffic stops were reported in the 600 block of HPR; 1300 HPR; 2600 HPR; and at Davidoff and HPR.
At 7:54 p.m. a boating accident at Sealing Cove was reported.
June 14
At 9 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at 1615 HPR; at 12:55 p.m. at 1209 Edgecumbe Drive; and at 1:30 p.m. at 303 Lincoln Street.
A theft was reported on Patterson Way.
At 5:49 p.m. fireworks were reported in the 4000 block of HPR.
A domestic problem was reported in the 1600 block of SMC.
June 15
Criminal mischief was reported in the 1600 block of SMC at 12:49 a.m.
Sitka Police
Amanda Skultka, 33, was charged Friday with violating conditions of release.
Charles Grogan, 30, was charged Sunday with a probation violation.
Veronica Falzerano, 49, was charged early this morning with criminal mischief in the fifth degree, domestic violence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10;08 a.m., 10:25 a.m., 10:52 a.m., 2:10 p.m., 5:18 p.m., 7:22 p.m. (two calls), and 11:13 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, calls came in at 2:41 a.m., 8:56 a.m. and 10:01 p.m. On Sunday, calls came in at 1:02 a.m., 11:22 a.m., 2:17 p.m. and 3:44 p.m.; and this morning at 4:51 a.m.
Hiker Rescued
A teen stuck on a rocky incline along Nelson logging road was helped down by a Sitka Fire Department search and rescue rope team Saturday afternoon.
Chief Dave Miller said the team went to the top of the incline, lowered a rescuer with a rope and harness down to the hiker, and helped him to the base of the incline. He was unharmed, Miller said.
The rescue took a little over an hour from the time the call came in, at 4:50 p.m., Miller said.

Responding to the requests of athletes, coaches and parents, the Sitka School Board voted unanimously Monday against a proposal that would have changed Sitka High School’s classification from Class 4A, which includes Juneau and Ketchikan, to the 3A, which has schools with enrollment of 100 to 400 students.

Memories of Sitka’s first radio station have been revived by a St. Louis, Mo., man who was one of the founders. Fred A. Wiethuchter recently wrote a letter to “Mayor Sitka, Alaska” asking about the town since he was here during World War II. He was an Army private at Fort Ray when he was attached to Armed Services Radio Station KRAY and WVCX ....
