Housing Fair

Dear Editor: The Sitka Community Land Trust held its second annual Affordable Housing Fair on March 7 at Harrigan Centennial Hall followed by an open house at 1334 Halibut Point Road.

It was an informative event and the SCLT board and staff would like to thank the following people, organizations and businesses for helping to make it a success: The vendors were Jan Miyagishima, AHFC and Barb Worley, NeighborWorks from Anchorage; Amy Ainslie, CBS planning director; Shauna Thornton, branch manager, FNBA; Beth Smith, loan secretary, FNBA; Mike Medford, First Bank VP, chief mortgage officer (Ketchikan); Sarah Allison, AVP lending branch manager, First Bank (Sitka); Kelsey Carney, LMSW, STA transitional housing manager.

Food was donated by the Hames Corporation (Sea Mart). Financial assistance was provided by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, First Bank and Northrim Bank. The SCLT board and staff members were ably and cheerfully assisted by Harrigan Centennial Hall staff members Mark Danielson and Kent Gibson.
