A woman said a driver hit her parents’ vehicle then left the scene.
At 11:15 a.m. a man was reported acting strangely at the airport. He told officers he had left on the 6 a.m. plane to Anchorage for medical reasons; was told in Juneau no seats were available and to return to Sitka; and he was upset. He was not intoxicated, police said.
A summons from Juneau was given to police to serve here.
A resident said a bank was not giving him his Social Security money.
Hospital staff asked for the ACO to help in catching an injured squirrel.
A driver passed a school bus while its lights were flashing, a caller said.
A Samsung cell phone was found on the Blue Lake Road.
Two school binders were found on Harbor Mountain Road. One of the owners said she and a friend had left them there because they were heavy and they wanted to walk around. The two girls picked up the binders.
At 6:25 p.m. a caller said two intoxicated men had been denied entry on a jet, and were now either passed out in the airport restrooms or wandering in the terminal. One was taken into protective custody and the other had left.
A non-aggressive bear was reported in totem park at 6:55 p.m., walking on the trail and heading downstream. A park maintenance worker said the park knew about the bear and had posted signs to the public to be aware.
At 8:30 p.m. a bear was seen in a Riggs Street yard. It was gone when police arrived.
At 10:20 p.m. an alarm went off in a car in the 2800 block of HPR.
Sept. 22
At 12:45 a.m. a gunshot was reported heard in the 3800 block of HPR, but nothing was amiss when police arrived.
At 1 a.m. a man said his wife came home from a bar and started throwing things at him, grabbed a knife, and broke her own phone, prompting him to lock her out. Police gave both disorderly conduct warnings and escorted the woman to another home to stay for the night. The man was advised not to open the door to her if she returned.
At 1:36 a.m. a man said he received a threatening facebook message from a resident who said he was going to kill the man’s baby. Police advised him of his options.
