The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
July 24
At 9:24 a.m. a caller said three older men had just dumped a girls Specialized bike in bushes in the 500 block of Katlian Street. Police found the bike’s owner, who said she had sold it long ago and didn’t have the buyer’s name.
A caller said the registration and insurance card were stolen from a truck.
A Juneau mental health facility said a man with dementia had left a group home and had just phoned from the Sitka post office. Officers found the man and let him wait in the station lobby until his flight to Juneau.
A woman said a large black Lab attacked her dog on the Yaw Drive cross trail. She was taking her pet to the vet.
At 1:44 p.m. a caller said a client had seen four individuals smoking marijuana in the 200 block of Katlian. Officers found the four were charging devices and smoking cigarettes.
At 5 p.m. police provided back-up 911 for a man reported lost at Baranof Warm Springs. The man said he wasn’t lost and didn’t want help, or to give out information.
A caller said her husband was yelling and being aggressive, while her two children were present. Officers determined the situation didn’t meet requirements for a 72-hour emergency domestic violence order, but told the man to stay away for now.
At 6 p.m. a caller said a friend had been assaulted at a bar Friday, and the man who grabbed him by the throat later charged the caller and swung at him.
A caller said her daughter assaulted her and she wanted her to leave. When police tried to confirm the assault, the caller said it was verbal. She, her husband and daughter agreed to separate.
A resident said a man keeps calling him on his landline, leaving vulgar messages. The resident said the man’s calling the wrong number but won’t stop. Dispatch contacted the caller, who said he realized he had the wrong number and won’t call again.
A caller said a boat dumped on Eagle Way, apparently abandoned.
At 9:37 p.m. a caller on Eagle Way said fireworks were being set off on Galankin Island or nearby, and it was bothersome.
At 9:45 p.m. a caller in the 2100 block of SMC reported hearing fireworks or gunshots. Officers observed fireworks on an island.
At 9:45 p.m. a caller reported fireworks, apparently around Wolff Drive. Officers said they had observed fireworks being set off on an island.
At 10:18 p.m. a caller on Wolff Drive reported hearing fireworks, and had heard them over the past month. Officers advised the caller that the fireworks were being set off on an island.

Lacey Lee Diamond, 28, was cited for driving with a revoked license.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 9:13 a.m., 3:21 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. Monday, and 5:57 a.m. and 6:43 a.m. today.
A ladder truck was dispatched after an alarm malfunctioned at 877 SMC.
