The following calls were received by 8 a.m. today:
Aug. 14
A caller reported problems with neighbors, garbage and bears in the 4400 block of HPR. An employee explained the situation related to the business and the need to unlock the garbage containers on pickup day.
A man sleeping in the Baranof school covered area was given a criminal trespass order, at 8:53 a.m.
A caller said a bike tour business wasn’t obeying the rules of the road, nearly causing a four-bike, one-car accident. The company said the tours usually don’t go through the roundabout, and employees would be advised of the complaint.
A criminal trespass order was signed against a man to keep him out of a hotel.
An ambulance was called for a man who fell off a ladder and may have broken a rib or his back.
A caller described a near accident involving a vehicle and fuel truck, at Viking and HPR. Police talked to the driver who allegedly caused the accident, who said she stopped suddenly because she didn’t know why one of the other drivers was honking at her.
A rifle was found on a vehicle at Starrigavan.
Rabbits were reported to have escaped from a house in the 3200 block of HPR. The mother of the rabbits’ owner was advised.
At 4:22 p.m. chickens were reported running at large in the 3200 block of HPR.
A man said he lost his dog in the 2100 block of SMC. His contact info was given to a person who had found a similar dog earlier.
At around 10:23 p.m. a few people called 911 to report a man screaming on Hollywood Way. The man told police he would like to be arrested for disorderly conduct. His girlfriend agreed to care for him for the night.
A resident having a hard time breathing was picked up by an ambulance.
Aug. 15
At 12:44 a.m. a caller said he tried to scare a bear away from his house, and lost his dog in the process. Police searched for about 45 minutes and were unable to locate the dog or a bear.
At 3:12 a.m. an intoxicated man was reported on the mast of a fishing vessel trying to take the flag down, on the transient float of Eliason Harbor. Police said the complainant had to talk to the owner of the boat before pressing charges. Three individuals were given trespass warnings for the night. Police will follow up with the harbor master.
At 4:10 a.m. a resident with abdominal pain arrived at the police station and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Tia M. Brown, 29, who was indicted July 27 for felony driving under the influence,had a charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree added by the district attorney’s office, for alleged possession of heroin.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 12:47 p.m. and 11:31 p.m. Monday and 4:12 a.m. today.
