Sitka Police Department received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
Sept. 18
At 11:18 a.m. a Chihuahua was reported running near Seward Avenue, not letting a resident catch it. The animal control officer couldn’t find it.
The ACO picked up a dog running at large in the 800 block of SMC.
At 2 p.m. an Andrew Hope Street resident said a bear knocked over a grill in front of her house when she opened the door, then ran into the woods. Police, wildlife troopers and Fish and Game were notified.
At 4:10 p.m. a caller complained about loud music at a Naomi Kanosh Street residence. All was quiet when police arrived soon after.
At 4:38 p.m. a 911 caller said a man was beating on her friend’s door, asking for a cigarette and refusing to leave. Police found the man was intoxicated, and gave him a warning and told him not to return to the complex.
At 5:55 p.m. a caller said a man appeared to be going through a car in the 2500 block of HPR while a woman acted as a lookout. Police saw the man walking away with his own belongings.
Police are investigating a theft.
At 8 p.m. a caller said her tenant reported a possible domestic argument. Police went to the home, and found the noise to be the kids rough housing.
At 11 p.m. noises were reported coming from Castle Hill. No one was around when police checked.

Richard S. Lake, 52, was charged Monday with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree for alleged possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
In Court
A 2014 charge of driving under the influence filed against Roger J. Henderson, 69, was dismissed by the prosecution.
