Sitka Police Department received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
Nov. 7
A taxi driver reported a flip phone had been left in the cab.
At 4 p.m. a golden Lab wearing a black skull and bones collar was reported running at large in the Indian River subdivision.
Anchorage police asked for a welfare check on a woman. Sitka officers were unable to locate her.
Officers did a welfare check on a man at Thomsen Harbor. He said he didn’t need help.
At 11 p.m. a 911 caller said her daughter saw bear prints outside the home, on Lake Street. The caller later reported hearing growling, but officers found no sign of a bear.
At 11:18 p.m. a 911 caller said a 15-year-old girl, on probation for assault, had left a residential home after a conflict. Officers detained the girl.
Nov. 8
At 5:28 a.m. a vehicle was reported on the bike path in the 3000 block of SMC. Officers found the vehicle had broken down, and gave a male and female a ride to a residence. OCS was to follow up since the female wasn’t supposed to be staying at the residence.
In Court
Edward P. Abraham, 22, of Nunam Iqua, Alaska, on a charge of assault in the fourth degree-recklessly injure, was sentenced to 210 days with 180 suspended. He will be on probation for a year. He is to follow recommendations of a behavioral health evaluation.
A charge of disorderly conduct filed against Catherine B. Manuel, 26, was dismissed.
A charge of criminal trespass in the second degree filed against Robert J. Cain Jr. was ordered dismissed.
Sean P. Poffenbarger, 44, on a charge of driving under the influence was sentenced to 890 days with 87 suspended. He was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and ordered to complete and comply with substance abuse treatment recommendations. He will be on probation for one year.
Kevin Mark Harrah, 46, was found guilty of resisting/interfering with an arrest and fined $500. A charge of disorderly conduct - challenge to a fight was dismissed.
Michael D. Pizarro, 49, on a charge of assault in the fourth degree, reckless injure, was sentenced to 60 days, suspended, and ordered to get anger management treatment. He will be on probation for a year.
Kevin Trent Richards, 44, on a charge of violating a stalking or sexual assault protective order was sentenced to 30 days, suspended, and fined $500. He will be on probation for a year.
Bianca Lynn Erickson, 28, on a charge of driving under the influence was sentenced to 30 days, with 27 suspended, and fined $2,000 with $500 suspended. She is to obtain substance abuse treatment, and will be on probation for one year. Her driver’s license was revoked for 90 days. After driving privileges are restored she’s to use an ignition interlock device for six months.
Samantha Losselyong, 28, on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief in the fourth degree was sentenced to 30 days, suspended. She’s to get substance abuse treatment, and will be on probation a year. A charge of assault in the fourth degree, reckless injury, was dismissed.
Oscar Strait, 29, on a charge of driving under the influence was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and ordered to complete substance abuse treatment. His driver’s license was revoked for 90 days and he’s to use an ignition interlock device for six months after driving privileges are restored.
Noel Toribio, 22, on a charge of violating conditions of probation on a July 2014 charge of assault in the second degree, serious injury, had 45 days imposed, his probation reinstated, and the balance of suspended time not imposed was re-suspended.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched an ambulance at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
