Funeral services for Pauline “Jane” Hammock will be 1 p.m. June 20 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Jane, a nearly lifelong Sitka resident, died May 7 at age 88.

To Read Poetry
Carolin Goodwin, writer and poet laureate of San Matteo County, California, will read from her poetry collection ‘‘The Paper Tree,’’ and new works, 6 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Old Harbor Books.

Goodwin is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Yaw Davis of Sitka.
Kruzof Island
Cruise June 28
The public is invited to join Sitka Conservation Society staff in exploring the Kruzof Island shoreline and the birds that inhabit it on a cruise 5:30-8:30 p.m. June 28.
It will be led by Heather Bauscher. Tickets are $50 per person and are available for purchase at Old Harbor Books with cash or check.
‘‘We are grateful to Allen Marine for providing these tours at a discount for non-profits, so no further discounts are available,’’ SCS staff said.
It is a fundraiser for SCS.
Boarding will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Crescent Harbor loading dock. Hot drinks are complimentary and snacks are snacks are available for purchase. Participants can take their own treats. Binoculars are provided.
