The following calls came in by 8 a.m. today.
June 15
A caller asked police to check on a man who was talking of suicide. The man told officers he was leaving town.
At 10:39 a.m. a man was reported lying in the roadway near the Japonski work float. Officers talked to the man, who said he’d leave.
A caller said a company billboard was stolen in the 4500 block of HPR.
A 911 caller said a person on the top deck of a cruise ship at Old Sitka dock was threatening to jump off. The person was taken to a hospital.
A man reported to have boarded someone else’s boat at Japonski work float was taken into protective custody.
At 6:48 p.m. a caller said a woman with blood on her hands and head had walked into a building in the 200 block of Lincoln. She told officers she had fallen down and cut herself.
At 9:05 p.m. a caller reported an unmanned boat drifting toward town in the 3500 block of HPR. It was determined the boat was derelict. USCG Sector Juneau was to issue a broadcast deeming the vessel a hazard.
At 10:40 p.m. a caller reported loud music on Cascade Creek Road.
At 10:55 p.m. a caller said six young kids were walking around unattended on Andrews Street. An officer talked to a juvenile in the area who said the others kids had gone home.
June 16
At 12:32 a.m. a 911 caller said a man in a black leather jacket and with a long black beard was stumbling into the roadway in the 1300 block of SMC. An officer gave him a ride.
At 1:57 a.m. a 911 caller said he and a friend were being chased by six other persons. He declined to give police further information. One man was cited for urinating in public.
At 11:39 p.m. a 911 caller reported a woman was screaming and had pushed her way in a home, then left in a truck. Officers spoke to her.
A theft was reported at Blatchley.
June 17
At 8:58 a.m. a caller said a driver going slowly on Katlian might be intoxicated. Police determined the driver was likely sightseeing.
At 1:23 p.m. a passenger told TSA his laptop was missing after going through airport security. Officers were unable to locate it.
At 8:41 p.m. a caller said a transformer possibly exploded in the 3000 block of HPR. The electric department arrived to check on the transformer.
At 11:50 p.m. a bartender said a woman had passed out in the bar’s bathroom. She had a PBT of .212, and a man said he’d care for her.
Sitka Police
Lysandra Bell, 28, was remanded for a probation violation Friday.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 9:20 a.m., 1:20 p.m., 5:35 p.m., 6:51 p.m. and 9:48 p.m. Friday; 9:07 a.m. and 5:06 p.m. Saturday and 10:35 p.m. Sunday.
At 3:48 p.m. Friday the emergency response boat and an ambulance went to Old Sitka Dock where a person was reported planning to jump off a cruise ship. The person didn’t jump, and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
At 3:53 p.m. Saturday a truck was sent to 1207 Seward Ave. after steam from a humidifier set off an alarm.
Coast Guard
A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter picked up a 54-year-old woman who was suffering from abdominal pain Friday evening, aboard the cruise ship Coral Princess in Glacier Bay.
She was flown to Sitka.
