The following calls came in by 8 a.m. today:
July 11
At 10:12 a.m. a caller reported a bear in the woods near Halibut Point Rec Area. An officer and a wildlife trooper saw two dog walkers in the area but no bears.
At 12:53 p.m. a caller said a man was taking photos of kids at the SJ playground, and left when the caller asked him to.
At 4:41 p.m. a caller in the 1300 block of SMC said his bike was stolen.
At 8:30 p.m. a 911 caller said she’d been walking behind two men in the 800 block of Lincoln who appeared intoxicated and were threatening to fight one another. The men separated while the caller was talking to police.
July 12
At 12:39 a.m. a caller said a white utility truck was parked with its lights on in the 2900 block of SMC. Officers responded and talked to an occupant who said all was well.

Samantha Losselyong, 28, was charged with criminal trespass Wednesday night at ANB Harbor.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received a report at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday that a sprinkler had malfunctioned at 201 Katlian.
Coast Guard
In response to a mayday relay call about midnight from the M/V Alice Faye that a woman apparently had fallen overboard at Samsing Cove, the Coast Guard launched a helicopter. The crew learned the woman had fallen from the F/V Silver Convention, and there was no longer any distress.
