The following calls came in by 8 a.m. today:
July 17
A velcro wallet was turned in.
A man yelling obscenities at passing cars at Lake and Lincoln Street was given a disorderly conduct warning.
Police are investigating a case of criminal mischief at Lake and Lincoln and the new playground.
A 911 caller said her husband was trying to kidnap one of her children and leave the island. The call was disconnected and the woman refused to identify herself when an officer called back. Police talked to the husband and found no evidence of a crime.
At 11:40 a.m. a landlord reported a domestic argument in an apartment. Officers found two residents arguing only. A woman was given a ride to her primary residence elsewhere.
A key was found near Swan Lake.
A black iPhone 7 was reported lost.
At 1:39 p.m. police received several 911 calls about a two-car collision in the 2000 block of HPR. A woman and a juvenile were taken to the hospital.
Keys on a red carabiner were lost.
Keys were found in the 300 block of Seward Street.
At 5:26 p.m. a caller reported losing a collapsible drone.
At 7:05 p.m. a store clerk reported being threatened by a customer. A criminal trespass was signed against the customer.
At 8:12 p.m. a hospital worker asked police to talk to a couple regarding a “domestic situation.” Police talked to staff about the issue.
A yellow dog without a collar was seen running at large at 9 p.m. at Shotgun Alley and SMC.
At 9:30 p.m. a woman was heard yelling for someone to “run over her head.” Police received multiple calls on the situation. A woman at the scene was given a warning.
At 11:04 p.m. a dog was reported barking on Tilson Street. At 11:17 p.m. a caller said he’d shoot his neighbor’s dog if it didn’t stop barking. Officers heard no dogs barking in the area.
July 18
At 12:26 a.m. an assault and yelling were reported. Police investigated and made an arrest.
Sitka Police
Erica Barragan, 32, was arrested early this morning on a charge of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 11:38 a.m., 3:17 p.m., 5:20 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. Tuesday.
At 3:39 p.m. Tuesday an ambulance and fire truck were sent to the 2000 block of HPR on a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. Police said a juvenile and woman were taken to the hospital.
Coast Guard
The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter around 6:30 a.m. today to Khaz Bay where a 40-foot fishing boat, the Zaba, was taking on water, with two people aboard.
The flooding was under control when the helicopter arrived, on the west coast of Chichigof Island, and the helicopter returned to base, the Coast Guard said.
