The following calls were received by police by 8 a.m. today:
September 20
At 8:14 a.m. dispatch reported seeing a woman looking in the back of a truck that’s being held as evidence. The woman told an officer that she was looking to see if her property was in the truck. The officer gave her a firm warning about tampering with evidence, and she left the area.
At 8:52 a.m. a caller said a deer was walking down the middle of the road on Monastery Street at SMC.
A caller reported finding a red compressor, and wasn’t certain whether it was stolen.
At 10:15 a.m. a caller said a man was vomiting in the Crescent Harbor restrooms and might need assistance. While on the line with dispatch, the caller went into the restrooms and found no one. Officers were advised and conducted a search of their own.
A photo album was dropped off.
At 3:51 p.m. a caller on Vitskari Street said several Great Danes had been barking for a while. An officer responded but heard no barking.
A caller asked for a welfare check on her estranged husband, who had been contacting family members saying he wanted to die. An officer spoke with her.
At 5:22 p.m. Harbors asked for help contacting a man on the drive-down float at Eliason. An officer found the man and advised him against parking in where he isn’t supposed to, and if he continued to do so the vehicle could be impounded.
At 5:25 p.m. a caller said a German shepherd she was dog-sitting had gotten out, and it doesn’t have a collar. She called back later to say the dog had been found and they would be looking into securing her cage better.
A driver said a woman in a blue car had come up behind them at a high rate of speed and passed them, possibly to harass them as it had happened before.
At 8:40 p.m. police received a stalking order to be served.
At 10 p.m. a 911 caller said a woman had pushed her and taken her bags on Indian River Road, and a man had assaulted her a few weeks before. An officer spoke to the caller, who got her clothes back and didn’t want to press charges.
At 10:19 p.m. a 911 caller said two men were fighting near Flume Circle. Officers searched the area but didn’t find the two men.
At 10:24 p.m. a caller said she had heard her neighbor’s son screaming at his mother for more than an hour and he was still screaming. Police investigated.
At 11 p.m. a caller asked police to help remove her son from her home. He left the home and officers were unable to find him. At 11:12 p.m. the mother called back to say her son had returned and had attempted to hit her other son before leaving on foot. She said she would call police if he returned. She called at 11:34 p.m. to say he had come back and family members were holding him down until officers arrived.
September 21
At 12:49 a.m. a caller asked police to check on a friend who had indicated a problem while the two had been talking on the phone. Officers contacted the friend and saw no evidence of a crime.
At 1:11 a.m. a 911 caller in the 3000 block of HPR said she had heard what sounded like 10 shots in the area. An officer patrolled the area and didn’t find any disturbances.
At 3:27 a.m. a caller in the Brady Street area said that when city power came back on he saw lightning and smoke coming from his shed. The Fire Department found an electrical fire.
At 3:51 a.m. a caller asked for an officer to check around her house on Bahovec Court for bears because she had heard her trash cans get knocked over. An officer found a sow and cub running up the hill with garbage, and was going to contact other residents in the area.

Miguel Daniel Garcia, 20, was charged with criminal mischief, domestic violence, Thursday night.
Steven Wayne Allery, 32, was charged with disorderly conduct late Thursday night.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 7:57 a.m., 8:24 a.m., 4:45 p.m. and 9:14 p.m. Thursday. At 3:43 a.m. today an engine was sent to 211 Brady where a water heater had shorted out.
