Police Blotter
    The following calls were received by police by 8 a.m. today:
September 21
    A Marine Street resident  reported the theft of tools a week ago, and a Monastery Street resident reported a chain saw missing from his shed.
    An officer forwarded a complaint about junked items and a trailer on Osprey/Andrews streets near the ballfield.
    A caller reported possible violations of a domestic violence order.
     A caller who said a man was harassing him was advised of his options.
    A caller said kids had gotten out of a vehicle the night before at Kramer Avenue and Jacobs Circle and the vehicle  was still there, with a door open.
    A caller said a clinic patient was bitten by its blind and deaf dog when it was startled by attempts to catch it.
    A caller said two seafood workers had large amounts of money stolen from their bunkhouse room.
    At 6 p.m. a man arrived at the police station to serve time on a federal case of driving under the influence.
    At 6:21 p.m. a caller reported being told that a sow and cub were in the river by the totem park bridge, dining on fish. A message was left for NPS.
    A caller said a driver on SMC almost hit another vehicle head-on, sped through a construction zone and turned onto Indian River Road. Officers found it was a medical emergency.
    At 9 p.m. a caller said his black male cat named Sue and wearing a blue collar was missing from Sealing Cove.
September 22
    At 12:29 a.m. a 911 caller said her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend were in a physical dispute. The two admitted to arguing and said they’d be quieter. The officer noted a child in the home had been awakened.
    At 2 a.m. an officer saw a sow and cub along the road in the 4800 block of HPR, and trash cans knocked over.
    At 2:09 a.m. a 911 caller in the 1500 block of Edgecumbe Drive reported a gunshot and a bullet coming up through his kitchen floor from the unit below. An arrest was made.
    At 4 a.m. an officer saw a vehicle with its taillights on at Starrigavan boat launch and turned off the lights.
    At 10 a.m. a caller said a fare was refusing to pay. An officer spoke with the two and the caller agreed to take the fare to a bank to get money. The officer reminded the fare he’s on conditions of release, but the caller said the fare took off from the bank without paying, and owes $90. Charges are to be forwarded.
    At 11:40 a.m. a caller said a sow and cub were on the trail behind Katherine  Benson and Andrew P. Hope roads. Officers didn’t find any signs of bears.
    At 12:27 p.m. a caller said the doors were open on an abandoned house in the 500 block of Monastery and kids were running in and out. Officers found two doors apparently kicked in.
    A caller said a driver suddenly pulled in front of her at HPR and Crabapple. Dispatch contacted the car owner, who said his son had been driving and he’d talk to him.
    At 6:43 p.m. a caller said a driver was crossing the center line and the fog line on SMC. An officer found the driver wasn’t under the influence, that he just uses more real estate when driving out the road.
    At 7:21 p.m. people were reported carrying on at Pioneer Park. They were advised of park hours.
September 23
    At 3:30 a.m. a Marine Street resident reported tools had gone missing, he believed within the last two weeks.
    At 7:49 a.m. a man called from a hotel, asking for police help in dealing with a girl who had spent all his money. Police told him it was a civil matter. Soon after, a hotel manager asked to sign two criminal trespass warnings.
    A store manager reported a shoplifter had been caught on video, and he would like to pursue charges.
    At 11:31 a.m. a sow and cub were seen in the 3700 block of HPR.
    A burglary on Lake Street was reported. Police are investigating.
    At 2 p.m. a 911 caller said a friend was having trouble breathing at Pioneer Park. An ambulance was sent.
    A woman said a man was trying to steal a TV that he had given to her. Police found no evidence of a crime.
    At 9 p.m. a 911 caller said a student had broken into an office of a group home and taken a razor blade. An ambulance took a person to the hospital
    At 9:51 p.m. two men were reported having a heated argument on Katlian. It didn’t appear to be physical. Officers talked to both men.
    At 10:02 p.m. police saw a man urinating on Katlian Street. He told police he was leaving on a boat in the morning. He was given a warning.

Sitka Police
    Nathaniel S. Coble, 38, was charged Friday evening with violating a domestic violence order.
    Darrell Scott, 35, was charged Friday with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree and violating conditions of release.
    Myranda Ulrickson, 23, was charged Friday night with violating conditions of a domestic violence order.
    Charles W. Grogan III, 28, was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of misconduct involving a weapon in the fourth degree, and one of criminal mischief in the third degree, domestic violence.     Katherine Howard, 33, was charged with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence; reckless endangerment; and criminal mischief in the fifth degree, domestic violence, Sunday.

Matthew C. Hunter of Sitka recently returned from Cuba as part of a St. Olaf College International and Off-Campus Studies program. Hunter, a junior physics major at St. Olaf College, is the son of Robert and Kim Hunter of Sitka.
