LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. The group made the quilts for five local non-profits and one in Anchorage. The remaining quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief which distributes them to places around the world in need, such as Ukraine, as part of Personal Care Kits. Mt. Edgecumbe, Sitka Wrestlers Place at Petersburg

The Mt. Edgecumbe and Sitka High wrestling teams competed at Petersburg over the weekend.
Ketchikan won Friday’s team score with 135.5 points, MEHS was second with 93, Wrangell 78, Sitka 46, Petersburg 37.5, Craig 36.5, Thunder Mountain 33, Haines 8.5, and Hydaburg 3.
On Saturday Ketchikan won with 105.5 points, MEHS 102, Wrangel 58, Craig 52, Petersburg 43.5, Sitka 29, Thunder Mountain 28, Haines 4, Hydaburg 2.
All individual results were not included as they were incomplete.
Mt. Edgecumbe’s Alaina Pete won the girls 189-pound division with teammates Natasha Merlino second and Dakota Magnuson third. Other girls results included 145 Anya Pingayak; 119 Liana Carney, Wrangell (2nd Celeste Katcheak, MEHS).
Mt.
