LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. The group made the quilts for five local non-profits and one in Anchorage. Police Blotter
Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
November 14
A man said his brother assaulted him. Police arrested one man and forwarded assault charges on another.
An aggressive dog was reported on Lakeview Drive. The ACO found the dog wasn’t aggressive and its owner agreed to fix a fence.
Police talked to a woman about property damage at her home, and how she can apply for a protective order.
At 11:49 a.m. a caller complained about yelling. Officers talked to a woman who said she was yelling because of the “traffic” all day at the neighbors’ fifth wheel, possibly related to drug activity.
A resident asked to talk to officers about a crime she committed. Police determined it was a mental health issue, and talked to a relative about the next steps to take. A counselor was called to evaluate the woman.
A resident said she was leaving town, and asked for options in keeping her ex from entering the house.

At 1:22 a.m. a resident asked for help retrieving his belongings from an ex while she’s out of state. He was advised it was a civil issue.
Sitka Police
Robert Brown, 21, was charged Wednesday with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:51 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 7:33 a.m. today.
At 10:42 a.m. today a fire truck was sent to the SJ campus on a false alarm.
In Court
Charla F. Bernhardt, 32, was sentenced to 90 days, with 60 suspended, for assault in the fourth degree (cause fear of injury on a peace officer). She will receive credit for time spent in a treatment facility. She was ordered to complete counseling, and will be on probation for a year. Dismissed were charges of assault in the fourth degree (two counts) and violating release conditions of release (two counts).
