LUTHERAN QUILTERS – Members of the Quilts for Comfort Group stand between pews draped with some of the 205 quilts they made, in the Sitka Lutheran Church Tuesday. The group made the quilts for five local non-profits and one in Anchorage. Police Blotter
The following calls were logged before 8 a.m. today:
Jan. 15
At 7:31 a.m. a broken water main was reported on Monastery Street.
A grocery store asked for a criminal trespass form against an individual.
A service organization said a client was refusing to leave. After police arrived he agreed to take to-go plate and not return for the rest of the day.
At 11:50 p.m. a caller said passengers in two cars were screaming out the windows as they went from Sitka High to HPR.
A fire alarm went off at a hotel at 12:27 p.m.
At 2:34 p.m. a man was reported lying on the ground in an HPR parking lot. An officer found he was fine and able to get back into his wheelchair.
At 7:56 p.m. a said a man, possibly involved in a drug deal, was acting strangely on Granite Creek Road. Police talked to the man who agreed to calm down and stay near his residence.
Jan. 16
At 1:39 a.m. a caller said a vehicle was in a ditch at 1900 HPR with the airbags deployed but no on in it. Police left a message for the driver.
At 4:33 a.m. a woman called police to speak with someone because she was having trouble sleeping. Officers spoke to the woman.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched two ambulances Tuesday.
At 12:26 p.m. Tuesday a fire alarm was triggered by a broken sprinkler at 201 Katlian Street.
At 3:11 a.m. today a truck was sent to 601 Alice Loop Rd. on a false alarm.
