Kayak Video On
The kayaking video ‘‘Paddling in Arctic Bay Nunavut Canada’’ will be presented 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Rasmuson Hall on the SJ Campus, and 2 p.m. March 28 at the Sitka Pioneers Home main lobby.

Gun, Outdoor
Gear Swap Set
The Sitka Sportsman’s Association will host a gun and outdoor gear swap on Saturday, April 13, at 5211 Halibut Point Road.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. for the sellers and at 9 a.m. for buyers and browsers. It will go until noon or 1 p.m.

Ocean Wave
Quilters to Meet
The Ocean Wave Quilt Guild will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the United Methodist Church, 303 Kimsham Street. Plans will be finalized for the annual quilt show held in May.
The guild meets monthly September through June for inspiration, friendship, creativity and support. Meetings are open to anyone and membership is not required. Those with questions may call Sarah Jordan at 738-7272.
Swing Dance Class
At Jig Jam Concert
The Jig Jam concert, 7-9 p.m. April 2 at Odess Theater on the SJ Campus, will replace the April 2 swing dance class, organizers said.
Tickets can be purchased at Old Harbor Books.
Swing dance classes for April will continue 7-8:30 p.m. April 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the New Archangel’s Dance Studio. Swing dance will then break for summer season and resume Tuesday, Oct. 1, for fall and winter classes.
State Budget
Testimony Taken
The House Finance Committee will take public testimony about the state operating budget 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Sitka Legislative Information Office from residents of Sitka, Anchorage, Fairbanks and Ketchikan.
Citizens also may send written testimony to the House Finance Committee at house.finance@akleg.gov until 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27.
BIHA to Meet
Baranof Island Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners will meet 5 p.m. March 27 at 245 Katlian Street.
