Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
April 11
A caller complained about vehicles on Lake Street that don’t move or are parked in the wrong direction. An officer told him the vehicles are being dealt with and if they haven’t been removed during spring clean-up the police will move them
A hotel said a man had checked out of a room and hotel personnel found heroin in the room and a damaged table. An officer said police would dispose of the drugs, and the table damage will be dealt with civilly.
At 7:19 p.m. a caller said a driver was talking on a cell phone and swerving while going from Alice Loop Road toward town.
At 7:52 p.m. a caller said she has been drinking and thinks she took some pills because she woke up to find pills all over the floor and she was vomiting. She was taken to a hospital.
At 9 p.m. a caller said a driver threw trash out the window and was driving erratically. Officers were unable to find a vehicle matching the description.
At 9:11 a.m. a caller said two young people were wandering around the Monastery and A streets and seemed lost. They were gone when officers arrived.
At 9:32 p.m. a caller said an open suitcase was on stairs next to the caller’s garage, behind the Pioneers Home. An officer opened the suitcase, which was very old, and found it was filled with garbage. It was to be disposed of.
At 10 p.m. an officer helped a male get his earbuds free from his bike chain.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 11;13 a.m., 11:48 a.m., 7:56 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Thursday, and 3:33 a.m. today.
