Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
May 22
A school asked police to take possession of paraphernalia taken from a student.
TSA reported having 10 rounds of ammo to be picked up.
The ACO picked up the remains of a squirrel at the round-about.
A passenger off the Eurodam reported the theft of Bose headphones.
A caller said a man in a golf cart nearly hit the caller’s dog at the dog park, and when confronted showed the caller a paper that said he’s a disabled veteran. An officer told the caller he would contact the man.
At 6 p.m. a caller said ATV drivers were racing on Nelson Logging Road. An officer contacted two kids who said they had been trying to get better cell service. They were advised of the complaint.
6:18 p.m. a Kiksadi Court resident said neighbors had set off a seal bomb to scare some crows away, and her dog, which just had surgery, went under the deck. The caller said she wasn’t sure how she’d get the dog out. She asked that an officer speak to the person who had set off the seal bomb.
At 8 p.m. a caller said her husband and a restaurant employee were in an argument. Officers found both were intoxicated, and admitted to arguing. One man was given a warning and left.
At 11:30 p.m. a 911 caller said she was intoxicated and unable to figure out how to get into her residence. An officer assisted her.
At 11:35 p.m. a caller reported a possible bear in the 300 block of Seward Street, where there was a large puddle of urine in the road and the dog was acting defensively toward a wooded area.
At 4:41 a.m. an officer contacted a man and woman in front of a shop at 235 Lincoln St. The man was carrying a piece of whale baleen, which the two said they’d picked up from another party.

Troy Mayer, 53, was charged Wednesday afternoon with assault in the second degree, domestic violence, assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence, and criminal mischief, domestic violence.
Ann Marie Morris, 35, was charged early this morning with driving under the influence and cited for driving without a license and having an open container in a vehicle.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 3:15 p.m., 6:20 p.m. and 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, and 4:05 a.m. today.
In Court
Linda D. Marvin, 46, of Anchorage, on six charges of violating conditions of release, a class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to five days on each count, to be served consecutively. On a charge of unlawful contact, a class A misdemeanor, she was sentenced to 65 days, to be served consecutively to the other sentences. All sentences were satisfied via Nygren credit. Charges of assault in the fourth degree, fear of injury; violating conditions of release; and assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure, were dismissed.
