Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
June 12
A caller said someone had broken into her home and moved furniture. A relative said he believed EMS had moved furniture when taking someone to the hospital.
At 12:27 p.m. a traffic accident with no injuries was reported at the round-about.
A longboard was found downtown.
At 9:16 p.m. a caller said a pickup driver crossed the fog line a couple of times in the 1800 block of HPR. Officers contacted the driver, who said the pickup didn’t have power steering. Officers found no sign of impairment.
June 13
At 3:15 a.m. a caller on Lance Drive said someone had just slashed the tire of a vehicle parked outside the residence and run off.
Coast Guard
On Wednesday, a Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew conducted a wing-to-wing patient transfer with Guardian Aeromedical Services, and a 67-year-old woman with heart attack symptoms was flown from Skagway to Juneau.
At 2:33 a.m. a helicopter crew medevacked an injured hiker, age 45, from the Angoon clinic to Juneau. The man had sustained head and chest injuries in a 20-foot fall off a cliff. He was in stable condition at Juneau.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 11:20 a.m., 10:29 p.m. Wednesday, and 1:58 a.m. and 5:43 a.m. today.
In Court
Joanne M. Littlefield, 32, on an April charge of disorderly conduct, challenge to fight (non-domestic violence) was sentenced to one day.
Dennis L. Houston, 34, on an April charge of assault in the fourth degree, causing fear of injury, was sentenced to 90 days with 75 suspended, ordered to get treatment, and placed on one-year probation. Charges of assault in the fourth degree, and interfering with a report of a domestic violence crime were dismissed.
Joseph Jeffery Williams, 42, on a May charge of violating conditions of release was sentenced to three days with credit for time served. On an April charge of violating conditions of release he was sentenced to two days; and on a March charge of harassment in the first degree, offensive contact with fluids, he was sentenced to 25 days with 20 suspended, and placed on probation for one year. A March charge of disorderly conduct, an April charge of criminal trespass in the second degree; and four May charges of violating conditions of release were dismissed.
Ryan Matthew Travelstead, 25, on a charge of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, property damage of $50-$499, was sentenced to 30 days with 25 suspended; on a charge of violating conditions of release he was sentenced to two days, suspended, ordered to receive treatment, and placed on probation for one year. On a charge of theft in the fourth degree, less than $250, he was sentenced to 10 days with seven suspended, and credit for time served. He will be on probation one year.
