Sitka Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
February 14
A broken cellphone was found on the sidewalk on Seward; and a FiGo flip phone was found in totem park.
Two lights were reported stolen off a bike at 300 Lincoln St.
February 15
At 5 a.m. TSA said brass knuckles were taken from a passenger.
At 6 a.m. a caller said an unoccupied vehicle crashed into the back of another at Lake and Kinkead streets.
A caller said a man who appeared intoxicated threw an object at his car and yelled at him, on Seward Street. The caller was told of options.
At 6:25 p.m. a caller at a restaurant said a man screamed at her juvenile children, claiming they were trying to steal his identity. She said he had chased her children the previous week.
At 7:35 p.m. a caller said three homeless men were refusing to leave a business at 1211 SMC. They were gone when officers arrived.
At 9:23 p.m. a caller reported what sounded like fireworks in the 1600 block of HPR.
February 16
At 4:22 a.m. a caller said she was in her truck on Edgecumbe Drive and needed a ride home since she was unable to drive. She then said she was going to walk home. An officer took her to the hospital.
At 11:14 a.m. a man reported to be throwing things outside from his apartment was given a warning.
A caller said someone put burn marks inside his car and left a checkbook. He agreed to deal with the damage civilly.
An officer advised a driver not to park on the sidewalk at 236 Lincoln.
February 17
At 1:19 a.m. a caller said two individuals with flashlights were going through the trunk of a car on Lake Street. An officer found a man attending to the mechanics of his vehicle.
At 10:07 a.m. a man was reported following a woman and yelling at her. Police found nothing amiss when they patrolled the area.
At 11 a.m. a caller said she was having a “meltdown” with her significant other in a store and didn’t know what to do. She left before officers arrived to talk to her.
A driver said she’d popped two tires on a pothole at SMC and Jeff Davis Street, and left her car there.
At 12:20 p.m. a caller said a spaniel was in the store, would be dropped off at the shelter.
Officers were asked to check on a woman, who turned out to be fine. She said she had no working phone.
A toddler was reported walking down the sidewalk near HPR and Peterson. Officers didn’t find a child.
A 911 caller reported an unresponsive person. EMS was called.
A caller said a man was screaming and waving his hands at a woman in a business. Police talked to the two, who agreed to calm down.
A man apparently injected himself with too much insulin, and was taken to the hospital.
A couple arguing agreed to separate for the night. Police took a firearm at the request of the woman, and advised her of her options.
At 11:50 p.m. a couple was reported being loud. Told of complaints and they said they’d be quieter.
February 18
At 1 a.m. a caller said a man tried to get into her adult daughter’s bedroom window then fled. Officers found the man had put a shovel through the window, but no one was hurt. Police are investigating.
At 3:43 a.m. a deer carcass was reported in the 2000 block of HPR. It was left at the Raptor Center. .
Sitka Police
Tanya Ensweiler, 47, was charged Friday with violating conditions of release.
Louis J. Handerson, 46, was charged with driving with a revoked license and violating conditions of release Friday.
Chandler Kadake, 21, was charged Saturday with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence, and driving under the influence.
Rubi Nicodemus, 47, was charged Saturday with violating conditions of release, and cited for driving with a revoked license.
Sierra Greinier, 22, was arrested Monday on a warrant and for violating release conditions.
Coast Guard
Coast Guard Air Station Sitka medevacked a 78-year-old man with abdominal pain on Saturday from Skagway to Sitka. He was medevacked on a Guardian Flight for more advanced medical care.
