The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
April 21
At 8:19 a.m. a Shuler Drive resident said a bear was in her back yard looking in her window. It was gone when officers arrived.
Police advised a Wolff Drive resident to clean up trash strewn about.
Jewelry was stolen from a home.
A woman said a caller claiming to be from WalMart told her she was a preferred customer and entitled to some free items from the store if she would just provide her credit card number. She said she suspected fraud, and provided police with the phone number of the caller.
A resident reported a man and women were arguing, and now there were “fists flying.” The man told officers the woman had been refusing to leave his residence. Police escorted the woman off the premises.
A caller said he was approached about purchasing marijuana. Police talked to him soon afterward.
At 5:41 p.m. a caller said an intoxicated man was yelling on a neighbor’s porch. He was sleeping when police arrived, but able to care for himself and sent on his way. He was also given a disorderly conduct warning.
People were reported on fuel tanks on Lincoln Street at 5:39 p.m.
A woman said her wallet was stolen and over $400 charged on Amazon.
A woman was reported slumped over in her vehicle and possibly intoxicated. She told officers she had been enjoying the sun, was not intoxicated and was fine.
At 8:30 p.m. a van was reported in the ditch in the 2900 block of HPR but it was gone when police checked.
At 9:19 p.m. officers checked on men who were working on a vehicle and verified that it was their own car.
At 9:34 p.m. a caller reported a naked and disoriented man in a hotel hallway. He was taken into protective custody.

Garrent Nielsen, 36, was cited for having an open container on Monday.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 11:34 a.m., 12:53 p.m., 4:12 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Monday.
