The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
July 17
A man said he lost his black wallet with debit cards and ID cards inside.
A caller asked police whether anyone had turned in a black Alaska Airlines credit card.
A TSA official asked police to talk to a passenger who had about 12 rounds of ammo in his bag.
A wallet found at Centennial Hall was turned in to police.
A man turned in a backpack with clothes and toiletries found on the Goose Lake Trail.
A Kincroft Street resident reported a black rabbit was hopping from his yard to his neighbor’s house.
At 5:47 p.m. a resident reported a bear at Peter Simpson Street and Indian River Road, and garbage all over the place. Fish and Game was notified.
A caller asked for help removing an ex-employee from the property. Police talked to the man, stood by while he gathered his belongings, then escorted him off the property. Police said he was intoxicated but able to care for himself. He was advised to stay out of bars and liquor stores for the night.
A caller reported losing an iPhone.
A resident reported a suspicious vehicle on Herring Cove Road at 10:26 p.m. It turned out to belong to some people playing paintball, officers said.
Police advised a man sleeping in front of Centennial Hall to find another place to sleep.
At 11:35 p.m. a resident reported a man passing out and waking up in a bank vestibule. The man was able to care for himself, and told police that he didn’t want to go home because he was arguing with his wife. He was advised he needed to stay with a friend for the night, and leave the vestibule. He left on foot, police said.
July 18
At 12:13 a.m. police checked on a report of a woman who sounded distressed on Vitskari Street. Police were unable to locate anyone needing help in the neighborhood.
At 1:51 a.m. a resident reported loud yelling in the 2800 block of HPR. Police gave a couple a disorderly conduct warning.
At 2:32 a.m. a resident reported a vehicle with its engine running in the 700 block of HPR. Police talked to the driver, who said he was using the Wi-Fi before midnight but then fell asleep. He said he would go home.
At 4:52 a.m. a resident reported three intoxicated people, including a woman who was vomiting, in the 1300 block of Sawmill Creek Road. Police said there had been no physical conflict, and the woman was in a relationship with one of the men in the group. She left soon after officers arrived, and didn’t want to talk to police.

Dale L. Casey, 32, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a revoked license early today.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 2:40, 4:23 and 10:37 p.m. Thursday, and 6:06 a.m. today.

A medley of songs from “Jesus Christ Superstar” will highlight the morning worship service on Palm Sunday at the United Methodist Church. Musicians will be Paige Garwood and Karl Hartman on guitars; Dan Goodness on organ; and Gayle Erickson on drums.
