The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
Nov. 18
At 9 a.m. a DeArmond Street resident said a case of ASEA water accidentally left on the porch of an empty home had been stolen. It was valued at $137.50.
A BMX bike left near the Elks Lodge was turned in.
At 9:57 a.m. the animal shelter reported a dog had gotten loose and torn up the back room. It was returned to its kennel.
A vehicle parked facing traffic in the 800 block of Lake Street was cited.
A caller reported an issue over a $4,000 night deposit he said he’d made in April 2013 but which he had just found had never been credited to his account. An officer talked to the bank manager.
At 12:10 p.m. a caller said her tan and black shepherd-husky mix had gotten away on the cross trail.
A caller asked for a welfare check on a friend who was sounding depressed and suicidal. The friend told officers she was not suicidal and wanted the man to stop calling. Officers advised the man about harassment and making false reports.
A caller reported two high school students might be fighting later in the day, and one might have a gun. Officers talked to the students, who didn’t have a gun, and gave both disorderly conduct warnings.
In separate reports, an iPhone in a purple case with bunny ears; and a man’s wallet containing $120 cash and cards were reported missing.
A caller complained dogs run loose and defecate in yards in the 1600 block of Sawmill Creek Road.
A bike abandoned on Race Street that was in the road was picked up.
At 4:54 p.m. a caller said his blue 16’ blue Lund skiff was stolen.
At 9:13 p.m. a vehicle in the 300 block of Lincoln Street was impounded as being unsafe to drive on the road.
Nov. 19
At 6:14 a.m. a caller said she had fallen down and couldn’t get back up. EMS personnel assisted her.
