The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:

April 15

At 12:25 a.m. a woman who had passed out in a store was awakened by a friend. Both were intoxicated but able to care for themselves and agreed to leave the area.

At 1:11 p.m. a woman reported a couple was harassing her. Police are looking into the matter.

At 1:41 p.m. a caller said a tree had fallen in the 4500 block of HPR, but it was moved before police arrived.

A man said his wife’s vehicle was broken into and credit cards stolen. He was advised to cancel his wife’s cards.

At 1:37 p.m. a traffic accident was reported in the 400 block of Lake Street.

At 8:48 p.m. a 911 caller said a neighbor was sick and hadn’t been seen in a few days. Police were unable to contact anyone at the home, and called hospitals without finding the neighbor.

A black Schwinn bike was reported stolen.

 

Sitka Police

Jacob Kennedy, 22, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.

 

In Court

Calvina M. Wilson, 31, of Kake, was sentenced to 10 days, with credit given for time spent in treatment. Charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree and violating conditions of release were dismissed.

Kelly M. Durgan Sr., 53, was sentenced to 30 days, suspended, and fined $3,000, with $1,500 suspended, for violation of custodial duty. He will be on probation for two years.

Jaren K. Johnson, 18, was given a suspended imposition of sentence for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth degree. He was fined $300, is to forfeit controlled substances and is to complete treatment recommendations.

 

Coast Guard

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter Wednesday night flew a 61-year-old woman with chest pains from Klawock to Sitka for treatment.
