The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
June 30
A credit card was turned in.
At 8:03 a.m. a woman was reported sleeping in her vehicle in the Eliason Harbor parking lot. Officers advised her that she needed to sleep elsewhere.
A resident said his blue, black and white Specialized Hardrock 7-speed bike was stolen from the SJ campus.
A cat was left in the rabbit hutch at the shelter.
At 11:38 a.m. a man was reported getting sick in the grass in the 1200 block of Sawmill Creek Road. He went into the Sitka National Historical Park before police arrived.
At 3:14 p.m. a driver complained that someone was using a sprinkler to control dust on Eliason Street, and the water had gone onto his car and through the car’s window.
A business owner asked to sign a criminal trespass notice against a former employee.
At 4:56 p.m. a man who had fallen into the water at Eliason Harbor was out before police arrived.
A man sitting in his vehicle at the side of the road with his hazard lights on told police he was thinking of harming himself. Officers left him in the care of a relative.
July 1
At 12:41 a.m. a woman said she bought a cell phone for her boyfriend before he moved to town for work, but they have broken up and he refuses to return it. She was advised it was a civil issue, and was given some options.
At 2:18 a.m. people were reported sleeping in a vehicle on Kramer Avenue. Officers told them they needed to find a designated camping area.
At 2:32 a.m. two people were reported sleeping in the Starrigavan parking lot. Officers told them to stay in a camping area.
At 2:46 a.m. two people were reported in their vehicle at Starrigavan. They told officers they were just watching a movie, and were not camping. They left the area.
In Court
Nathan B. Johnson, 29, was found to have violated probation. His probation, which ended on March 31, was restarted on June 30.
Kelly R. Davis, 24, was given a suspended imposition of sentence on a charge of assault in the fourth degree. He will be on probation for a year and he is to follow treatment recommendations. He is to serve 10 days in jail, eight of which may be served through 64 hours’ community work service.

Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 10:55 a.m., 2:46 p.m., 4:29 p.m. and 4:54 p.m. Tuesday.
At 12:05 a.m. today a fire truck was sent to Shotgun Alley on a report of a brush fire. It turned out to be a controlled burn, the fire hall said. The property owner was advised to keep an eye on it.
