The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
July 1
A credit card was turned in from a Lincoln Street store.
At 1:38 p.m. a caller reported a circus employee was trying to get into the batting cage and concession stand at Moller Field. Officers found it was an electric department employee helping the circus get connected to city electricity.
At 1:58 p.m. a woman reported her son’s father left the 7-year-old home alone for three hours.
At 3:14 p.m. a man said someone stole his backpack that he left by accident for 20 minutes at the skate park. Inside the bag were an iPhone 5 charger, a jacket and an Xbox controller.
A resident asked for help getting his vehicle back from his ex-girlfriend. He was advised it was a civil issue.
At 5:53 p.m. a resident reported his Innokin iTaste e-cigarette was missing.
Police talked with a man who had reportedly threatened to harm himself. He agreed to stay with his mother.
July 2
At 1 a.m. police and harbor staff secured a boat reported adrift in Eliason Harbor. The owner was contacted.
In Court
A charge of criminal trespass in the second degree was dismissed against James A. Mavromatis, 41.
Emergency Calls
The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 12:48, 6:45 and 11:22 p.m. and called out search teams on two calls.
