Craig Girls Move Through Consolation Bracket
ANCHORAGE – The Craig High School Lady Panthers, representing Southeast at the 3A state tournament as the region’s second seed, fell to Dillingham 47-40 in the first-round Thursday. Melissa Castle had 17 for the Craig girls. Dillingham will face Galena after the Lady Hawks beat Seward 54-40.
In boys action Thursday, Anchorage Christian rolled past Hutchison 66-35 and Monroe Catholic dismantled Grace Christian 75-22.
ACS and Monroe played in the state championship game last year, with ACS narrowly beating the Fairbanks powerhouse.
Most observers expect ASC and Monroe to meet again for the 3A boys title this weekend, but Mt. Edgecumbe and Nome might have something to say about that tonight in the semifinals.
The Braves play ACS, with Nome taking on Monroe.
