UAF Cooperative Extension Service agent Marsha Munsell will present the next “Happy Health Hour” by video conference presentation 5:30-6:30 p.m. tonight at Kettleson Memorial Library.
Participants will learn how to recognize stress as it begins and control it for high performance while preserving good health. Call the Sitka district office at 747-9440 for more information.

Alaskan author Debbie Miller will speak at Kettleson Memorial Library 2 p.m. Dec. 7.
Miller was named one of Bank Street College’s Children’s Books of the Year, was given the IRA-CBC Teachers’ Choice Award, and earned starred reviews in “School Library Journal.”
She will discuss scientific research leading to her recently published work ‘‘A King Salmon Journey.’’
‘‘Two thousand miles is a staggering distance for any kind of journey and that is what faces Chinook, a female king salmon, as she takes a dramatic trip to safely deliver her eggs,’’ the library said. ‘‘From the Bering Sea, up the Yukon River, and on to the Nisutlin River, ‘‘A King Salmon Journey’’ takes young and adult readers on an engaging ride through the waters of Alaska and Canada, bringing to life the biology – and mystery – of one of the world’s most popular fish.’’

Seminar on Tap
Richard Nelson and Hank Lentfer will be featured at the next Natural History seminar series presentation titled “Learning to Listen through the Art of Recordings” 7:30 p.m. Dec, 4 at UAS-Sitka Campus.
Nelson and Lentfer will discuss their recently completed project recording the sounds of Glacier Bay National Park.
