Brave Heart Bowls

Event Wednesday

Sitkans are invited to get their ceramic bowls and soup at the 10th annual Brave Heart Bowls 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Centennial Hall.

The family event will have more than 50 homemade soups, desserts and bread, a live auction, silent auction, raffle and live music. The master of ceremonies will be Robert Woolsey. 

Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children under 10, available at Old Harbor Books or the Brave Heart Volunteers office. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Call 747-4600 for more information.

 

KGH Schedules

Winter Concerts

The public is invited to Keet Gooshi Heen winter concerts this month. Concerts are scheduled at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

Times and dates are: second grade, Thursday, Dec. 4; third grade, Tuesday, Dec. 9; fourth grade, Thursday, Dec. 11; and fifth grade, Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Admission is free of charge. Seating will be ample; however, those who would like to pre-reserve seats can contact the KGH office at 747-8395. 

 

 

New Arrivals

Baby Girl Floyd

Briar Mayson Floyd was born 12:27 a.m. Nov. 24 at Sitka Community Hospital. At birth, the infant weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Parents are Nicole and Ben Floyd of Sitka.

 

Story Time Set

The next preschool story time program at Kettleson Memorial Library will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.

‘‘Red Sled’’ by Lita Judge will be one of the readings. Songs, games around literacy activities and a craft project are part of the program. For more information call the library at 747-8708.

 

Wrapping Paper

Sought at Library

Kettleson Memorial Library at the Stratton, 831 Lincoln Street, is seeking donations of holiday wrapping paper for its Reading Wonderland program on Dec. 13.
