The Sitka Emblem Club meeting has been rescheduled to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Elks Lodge.
The business and social meeting will include a gift exchange, and supper provided by the president. All are invited. Those with questions may call Glade at 738-0630.
Gun Raffle,
Exhibit Set
The Sitka Historical Society and the Sitka Conservation Society will open their newest museum exhibit ‘‘The Art and History of Hunting and Conservation in Sitka’’ 5-9 p.m. Dec. 13 at Centennial Hall with a gun raffle.
The event is free and open to the public. Food will be available and spirits will be served by Baranof Island Brewing Company.
The program will include several firearms raffles, a panel of Sitka’s big game guides, 10 local artists’ newly created works on hunting and conservation and Larry Calvin’s 1961 feature film, ‘‘Alaskan Holiday.’’
Tickets at $50 each for the gun raffle are on sale at Orion Sporting Goods, Sitka Elks Lodge, Brenner’s Fine Clothing and Gifts, Pioneer Bar and at the Sitka Historical Society Museum at Centennial Hall. A total of 350 tickets will be sold. Every 25th ticket drawn wins a firearm and every fifth ticket drawn wins a sportsman’s prize.
Firearms to be raffled are on display at Orion Sporting Goods.

Meeting on Tap
The White Elephant Shop monthly meeting will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Swan Lake Senior Center. Meetings are open to the public.
Sitka 4-H Meets
For Holiday Party
The Sitka Spruce Tips 4-H holiday party will be 5-7 p.m. Dec. 15 at UAS-Sitka Campus.

Young Native
Artists Market Set
All are invited to meet the next generation of Alaska’s Native artists during the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum’s Young Native Artists Market 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
The market will highlight the work of young Native artists from throughout Alaska presently attending Mt. Edgecumbe High School.

Katlian Street
Topic of Meeting
Those who to help make Katlian Street safer and easier to walk are invited to join the walkability/safety subcommittee from the Celebrate Katlian Street: A Vibrant Community project of the Sitka Health Summit 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the back office at the ANB Founders Hall.

Bird Walks at
National Park
Sitkans interested in viewing, identifying and learning about Sitka’s winter bird residents, or needing a refresher before participating in the Christmas Bird Count, are invited to participate in free winter bird walks 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at Sitka National Historical Park
Walkers of all ages and levels of bird-watching experience are invited to meet at the visitor center and explore the park’s various ecosystems.
‘‘At the conclusion of the walk, enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate inside the visitor center and discuss the bird species you saw that morning,’’ the park said.
Interested parties should dress warmly and be prepared to spend an hour and a half outside in variable weather conditions. Participants who have binoculars are encouraged to take them. Tone and Flex
Class at Hames
Zen tone and flex classes, led by personal trainer Mariah Secrest-Comer, are planned 12:15-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Dec. 9-18 at the Hames Center.
The class fuses stretching and fitness. It is designed to first fire up metabolism and then work out the kinks in both muscles and mind.
SEARHC Bazaar
Set for Dec. 10
The annual SEARHC hospital Christmas bazaar will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the SEARHC Litehouse cafeteria ground floor.
It will include crafts, jams, handmade items, jewelry, Native drums and artwork, photography and other items.
Lunch will be available in the cafeteria. The public is invited to attend. Those with questions may call Helen at 747-3410.
Fiber Friends Meet
Fiber Friends will meet noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, in the atrium at UAS-Sitka Campus. All weavers spinners and dyers are welcome.
