Sitka resident Ditlef “Rich” Didrickson, 68, passed away June 20, 2013, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.
A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Prewitt Enterprises. A graveside service with full military honors will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Sitka National Cemetery.
Mr. Didrickson was born Feb. 25, 1945, in Sitka to Alex and Irene (Williams) Didrickson.
He honorably and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He then pursued further education and became an electrician.
He loved being on his boat on the ocean and fishing; staying busy with yard work; and most importantly being with his grandchildren.
 He was a generous and loving father, grandfather, friend and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Arlene Didrickson, grandfather Christian Didrickson, grandmother  Paulie James Didrickson, father Alex Didrickson, mother Irene (Williams) Didrickson, and brothers Aldred Didrickson and Chris Didrickson, who was also known as Buddy D or Bud.
He is survived by his son, Ditlef “Rick” Didrickson and his wife Lisa Didrickson  of Eagle River; daughter Celeste Connor of Phoenix, Ariz.; and grandchildren Dylan Didrickson, Cory Didrickson, Austin Didrickson, Lexi Didrickson, Terrence Thompson, Christopher Baker and  Joseph Maldonado.
Also surviving are his sisters Dolores (Dee) Gulliver and her husband Al Gulliver, Bernadine Marshall and Sharon Didrickson; and brother Alex “Butch” Didrickson.
