A celebration of the life of Donna Marie Sams will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Halibut Point Recreation Area.
All are invited to attend. Cooking was such a big part of Donna’s life, and those who wish are welcome to take a favorite dish to share.
Donna died July 25, 2013, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. She was 55.
She was born June 4, 1958, at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, and lived most of her life in Sitka.
She married Michael Sams in Sitka June 30, 2002.
Donna was a caring and loving wife, mamma, sister and friend. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her grandson, family and friends.
She liked reading, watching scary movies,  and the TV cooking channel.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Casina Richards; her father, Tom See; stepfather Robert W. Wilkins; brother Robert O. Wilkins; and sister Linda See.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Sams; daughter Alicia Soto; son Kevin See; and the light of her life, her grandson Cecil Patterson.
Her brothers are Tom See, Richard See, Tony See, Carl See and James Wilkins; and her sister is Barbara Shaw.
Also surviving are nephews and nieces Tommy See, Mark See, Mary Ann Ness, Noel See, JR Paul, Triska See, Elisa See, Rick See, Bobby See, Tony See Jr., Michael See, Valerie See, Laura See, R.T. Shaw and Rigel Shaw.
