Lena Louise Davidson, a former Sitka resident, died  March 12, 2014, in Anchorage. She was 44.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Ave. in Anchorage. Pastor David Wilson and Providence Hospice chaplain Bianca Rauch will co-officiate.
Lena’s ashes will be laid to rest at the Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lena was born Oct. 6, 1969, in Seattle, Wash. Her family lived in Missoula, Mont., and San Diego, Calif., before moving to Sitka in 1972. The family moved to Chilhowie, Va., in 1976, and in 1979 returned to Sitka.
Lena was a member of the Sitka Assembly of God and worked at times at the Sitka Public Library, Sea Mart and Lakeside Grocery from 1985 to 1988. At Sitka High she was a member of the Honor Society and drill team in high school. After graduating from Sitka High in 1987, Lena moved to Fairbanks where she studied and was a cheerleader at the University of Alaska Fairbanks until 1989.
While she lived in Fairbanks she worked at Alaska Feed Co. and Denny’s. She was a member of the Potter’s House from 1987 until 1991 when she moved to Anchorage, where she has resided ever since.
Lena had worked at the Bible Book Store in Anchorage from 1992 to 1994. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts.
“Always smiling, never wavering in her faith. Lena’s struggles are over and she is in the arms of Jesus. Psalm 91,” wrote her father. “Lena, beloved daughter and sister. She took on adversity like a warrior and loved God like a child. We will miss you, dear heart.”
Lena is survived by her mother, Betty  (Willard) Means of Norman, Okla.; father, Dean (Nina) Davidson of Willow; brother and sister in-law, Kevin Davidson (Wendi) of Anchorage; sister and brother in-law, Stacy (Curtis) Smith of Anchorage; step-brother, David (Lesia) Martin of Anchorage; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
