Felix Alfiler Castillo Sr., a former Sitka resident, went to be with our Lord on April 7, 2014, in Ketchikan, surrounded by family and friends. He was 94.
He was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Langiden, Abra, Philippines, the youngest of eight children. He lived in the Philippines, Sitka, Hawaii, the Puget Sound area of Washington, and Ketchikan. In Sitka he worked for more than 22 years at Alaska Pulp Co., until his retirement.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Concepcion Dasalla Castillo; children Consorcia Alejon Castillo and Richard Dangel, Florence Alejon Castillo and James Maricevich, Randolph Alejon and Laura Joseph Castillo, Fletcher Alejon and Angelique Castillo, Mario Apolinario Barroga Castillo, Rodolfo Barroga Castillo, Felix Dasalla Castillo Jr., Lynne Dasalla Castillo and John Kelley; and his grandchildren, Juliana Beth Castillo, Randi Leigh Castillo, Jamie Shaylynn Castillo, and Fletcher Alejon Castillo II.
Also surviving are numerous relatives here in the United States and the Philippines.
A Vigil Liturgy with Rosary recitation was held April 8, and visitation and funeral Mass were held April 9 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Ketchikan.
