    A service for Doris Jean (Anderson) Emanoff will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Sheet’ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi community house.
    A reception will follow the memorial. Those who wish are welcome to take a side dish.
    Doris died Aug. 1 in Juneau, at the age of 56.
    She was born May 17, 1958, in Sitka, the daughter of Jeannie (Max) and George Anderson. Her Tlingit name was Kin’du’wain, and she was an Eagle/Killer Whale of the Kaagwaantaan clan, Eagle Nest House.
    Doris graduated from Sitka High School in 1977. She started working in cold storages in Pelican and Sitka, and for Alaska Pulp Co., then at SEARHC in both Sitka and Juneau.
    She also worked in hotels, in housekeeping.
    She married Charles E. Emanoff Sr. in Sitka on May 16, 1980.
    Doris loved hunting, camping, and fishing with the family from an early age. She also enjoyed softball, crocheting, and doing crafts and games with the kids.
    Doris was predeceased by her mother, Jeannie Max Anderson; her father, George Anderson; her brother George Max; and her husband, Charles E. Emanoff Sr.
    She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Mae Emanoff; son Charles Edward Emanoff Jr. of Sitka; grandaughter Ashlynn Hailey of Kake; brothers William L. Anderson and Donald E. (Becky) Anderson, and sister Charlotte J. Bernhardt and daughter Mary J., all of Sitka; nephew Dallas Peavey of Sitka; niece Amanda Ness of Marysville, Wash.; and many dear cousins, other family members and friends.
