Five Arrested, Charged in Weekend Drug Bust Here
By Sentinel Staff
Three residents of Sitka and two from Washington were arrested and jailed on drug charges after search warrants were served on two locations in Sitka this past weekend, Sitka police reported today.
The five are Karly K. Fuller, 28, Sierra L. Greinier, 24, Cail J. Nevers, 31, of Sitka; Alexander K. Weida, 33, of Burien, Washington, and Courtney M. Young, 32, of Everett, Washington, police said in a press release.

Each of the suspects is charged with one count of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree and one count of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree, the press release said.
The three Sitkans were arrested in a hotel after 8 p.m. Sunday and the other two in a parking lot on Halibut Point Road about 3:20 a.m. Monday, police said.
Drugs seized at the hotel included 64 fentanyl pills with an approximate street value of $3,520; 28 grams of heroin valued at $28,000; and 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $700, police said.
Weida and Young were in possession of about 1,540 fentanyl pills with a street value of about $80,000, and 21.5 grams of methamphetamine, valued at $4,300, police said.
The news release said the warrants also resulted in seizure of a large amount of drug paraphernalia.
Police Chief Robert Baty said he was glad to see that amount of drugs, kept off the streets, citing the fentanyl in particular.
“I can’t help but think that we averted some major tragedy in the future,” he said.
He called the arrests the result of “great investigative work by our officers.”
The three Sitkans were arraigned Monday, and the other two on Tuesday.
Fuller is being held on $150,000 bail; Greinier and Nevers on $27,500 bail each; Weida on $125,000; and Young on $75,000, police said.
A preliminary hearing has been set for September 29.
