We’re the Sitka Maritime Heritage Society, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing Sitka’s rich maritime history and the enduring heritage of the Tlingit people. Visit us at the historic Japonski Island Boathouse, a WWII-era Navy boat shop and marine railway being restored into a living maritime heritage center. Explore stories, photos, and hands-on programs that bring Sitka’s seafaring past to life.
