Abbott Takes State Baseball Title

In a tiebreaker to decide a five-game series, the Gastineau Channel Little League majors fell 2-0 to Anchorage’s Abbott O Rabbit squad, Monday evening at Moller Park.

Abbott O Rabbit won that final game and the state championship title after an evenly matched, back-and-forth series. Abbott won the series opener Thursday, but Juneau’s team bounced back to win Friday. Anchorage claimed another victory Saturday, but GCLL tied the series 2-2 with a win Sunday, forcing the final tiebreaker matchup Monday.

Following their state-level win, Abbott O Rabbit will represent Alaska in the Western Region Little League tournament in San Bernardino, California, beginning Saturday.
