Angela Lee Haag Dies; Former Sitkan Was 45

Services for Angela Lee Haag, a former Sitka resident, will be held 4 to 6 p.m. July 5 at the Mid-Valley Independent Baptist Church in Houston, Alaska, Mile 57.7 on the Parks Highway.

Angela died in Houston on her 45th birthday, Jan. 21, 2025.

She was born Jan. 21, 1980, in Sitka, the daughter of Patricia Stedman and Gary Haag. She attended Sitka High and Pacific High, Class of 1999, and lived in Sitka off and on throughout her life. She was a hairdresser and colorist.

Angela enjoyed the outdoors, boating, camping and hiking, and playing softball with her family and friends.

She loved cake decorating, party and event planning, and, most of all, spending time with her three children, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Haag, in October 2024.

She is survived by her children, Jesse James Pitcher II, 22, Zackary Max Castro, 17, and Annalee Marie Castro, 11, all of Houston; brothers Mathew Thayer and wife Jennifer Thayer of Bend, Oregon, and Shane Haag and wife Paige Yeager of Houston; mother Patricia Stedman of Houston; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
