‘Animal Nature’

Dear Editor: After having Veterinarian Burgess Bauder as an acquaintance for 50 years it was an especially meaningful and sad event to attend his Oct. 4 memorial.

Wanting to know more about Burgess and his adventures, I learned of an ‘‘adult’’ book: ‘‘Animal Nature: A Portrait of Burgess Bauder,’’ by John Straley. This interesting and colorful story is in our local library! With photographs by Ellen Fankenstein.
